Obituary* | | Obituary for Melvina Lewis:
Mrs. Melvina Hash, a native of this county who had resided here most of her life, died Thursday night, Feb. 16, at the Gentry County Memorial hospital. She was 94 years of age. She was born Dec. 4, 1866. Mrs. Hash was a member of the Albany Methodist church for a number of years, but had not attended services in later years due to failing health. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Canaday, in 1919. In 1927 she was united in marriage to James Hash, who preceded her in death in 1932. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Iva Bowlin of Gentry; three granddaughters, two grandsons and nine great-grandchildren. Final rites were held Saturday afternoon, Feb. 18, at 1:30 o'clock at the Brooks-Cochell Funeral Home. The Rev. Hiram Lilley officiated. Burial was in Greenridge cemetery northwest of Gentry. 10 |
