She was the wife of Michael Patrick Corridon, Missouri state highway engineer. A former resident of Lathrop, Mo., Mrs. Corridon had lived in St. Joseph a number of years. The family home is at 2407 Faraon street. In addition to her husband, surviving are one daughter, Miss Patricia Ann Corridon, of the home; a son, Maxen Canady of Lathrop; six sisters, Mrs. Kate Ferguson, Grant City, Mo; Mrs. Louie Long, Torrington, Wyo; Mrs. Alta Craven, Denver, Mo., and Miss Mildred Batman and Mrs. Maude Evans, both of Mound City, Mo., and three brothers, Sam Batman, Oregon, Mo; Floyd Batman, Worth, Mo., and Lowell Batman of Torrington. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p. m. at the Lathrop Baptist Church. The Rev. W. W. Pierce of St. Joseph and the Rev. W. W. Taylor of Lathrop will officiate. Burial will be at Grant City.4 |

Obituary* | Obituary for Lee Roy Canaday: Lee Roy Canaday was born near Gentry, Mo., July 29, 1887, and departed this life Dec. 1, 1918, near Grover, Colo., after a brief illness of pneuonia, the effects of influenza. He leaves to mourn his departure his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Canaday, of Gentry, Mo., two brothers, Lewis and Claude, of near Worth, and one sister, Mrs. A. W. Bowlin, of Grover, Colorado. He was converted at a meeting at Worth a few years ago and lived an exemplary life, being respected by all who knew him. He was a good and kind neighbor, always ready to help in any way. In the few years he lived in Colorado he had made many friends, sixteen cars of mourning friends following his remains to the station. The greater part of Roy's life had been spent near Gentry and he leaves a host of friends and relatives in this community who sincerely mourn his departure. Funeral services were conducted at the Green Ridge church by Rev. W. L. Wiley, of Worth, after which the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery at the same place.2 |

Obituary* | Obituary for Mary C Hussey: Mary C. Canaday 1911-2011 LATHROP, Mo. — Mary C. Canaday, 99, a lifelong resident of Lathrop, took the next step of her journey on February 13, 2011. Mary was one of twin daughters born to Lloyd E. and Hallie B. (Jones) Hussey on August 29, 1911, in Lathrop. She was the last surviving member of the Lathrop High School Class of 1929. Mary joined the First Christian Church in Lathrop in 1924, and served her church as a choir member, Christian Women’s Fellowship member, and in many other capacities for over eight decades. She was a proud resident and civic volunteer in Lathrop all her life, and was honored as “Citizen of the Year” by the Lathrop Rotary Club.Mary was associated with the Morris D. Bailey Funeral Home for over 30 years. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Max Canaday; twin sister, Frances Silvius; and great grandson, Carter. Survivors include her sons, Jack Canaday and Richard Canaday (wife Judy), all of Lathrop; grandchildren, Faith, Sarah, Rebecca and Elijah; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Charlotte, Joel and Colin; niece, Sue Brawner; and nephew, Robert Silvius. Visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 16, at the First Christian Church of Lathrop. Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 17, at the church. Burial will follow in the Lathrop Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the church maintenance fund. Arrangements: Park Lawn Lathrop Chapel, (816) 740-4658.3 |

Obituary* | Obituary for John Allen Batman: (the clipping does not seem to include the first part of this obituary) John Allen Batman was born near Rock Island, Ill., April 29, 1850. He came to Worth County when a small boy and since that time has lived in this county. His married life was spent on a farm in the vicinity of Worth, with the exception of thirteen years spent in Grant City. He was married Jan. 2, 1881 to Miss Rena Cadle and this worthy couple celebrated their golden anniversary two years ago. Ten children survive, besides Mrs. Batman: Mrs. F. E. Ferguson, Miss Maude Batman, Mrs. Wade Craven, Mrs. Lou Long, Mrs. Bertha Corridon, Mrs. Mont Trump, Miss Mildred Batman, Sam Batman, Floyd Batman and Lowell Batman.4 |
