Orpha Dirks, 91, homemaker, died Dec. 5 at Bethesda Home in Goessel. The funeral was Dec. 8 at Central Heights Mennonite Church in rural Durham with pastors Walter Friesen and Kevin Goertzen officiating. Burial was at Peace Valley Cemetery in rural Durham. She was born Jan. 13, 1912, to Henry P. and Amelia (Schmidt) Unruh in Marion County. On March 13, 1934, she was married to Emil Dirks, who predeceased her in February. She is survived by two sons, DeWayne Dirks and wife Elvera of Berryton and Dennis Unruh and wife Cindy of Gypsum; two daughters, Kathleen Wilson of Spokane, Wash., and Gloria Rediger and husband Gary of Newton; two brothers, Wesley Unruh of Hillsboro and Ralph Unruh of Missoula, Mont; seven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. Memorials have been established with Bethesda Home and the Mennonite Central Committee, both in care of Miller Funeral Home in Goessel. 2 |
