Obituary* Obituary for William David Collins:
W. D. Collins Died At
His Home Sunday Night

W. D. Collins, son of John W. and Martha Collins, was born near the New Friendship Church in Gentry County Mo., June 12th, 1871 and passed away at his home in Albany, January 25th, 1948 at the age of 76 years, 7 months and 13 days.

On July 21st, 1892, he was united in marriage to Ella B. Manion, who preceded him in death January 5th, 1937.

He was converted under the preaching of the late Rev. F. A. Leonard and united with the New Friendship Baptist Church in 1893, later moving his membership to the Gentry, Mo. Baptist Church. Mr. Collins with his good wife resided in the Gentry Community until 1918 when they moved to their farm south of Darlington, Mo., where he continued to live until he moved to Albany in 1943.

He leaves to mourn his passing two brothers, F. B. of Laurel, Mont. and E. A. of Twin Falls, Idaho; six sisters, Mrs. Laura Stanton, and Misses Lula, Julia, Carrie and Beatrice Collins all of Worth, Mo., and Mrs. Hattie Pigg of Excelsior Springs, Mo. Also 26 nephews and nieces and a host of other relatives and friends. One brother, George Collins, passed away in 1919.

Since the death of his companion, a niece, Miss Arlie Hise, has taken care of the home and lovingly cared for him. Although loved ones spared no effort to help him keep his health, death claimed him and our belief, our loss his gain.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 at the New Friendship Church, conducted by Rev. A. L. Christian of Darlington. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.6

Obituary* Obituary for Lula May Collins:
Miss Lula Collins died last Thursday night at her home here following a long period of illness. She was 77 years of age, and had just recently moved with her sisters to Albany from Gentry.

The following obituary has been furnished this newspaper:

Miss Lula Mae Collins, daughter of John and Mary Mitchell Collins, was born Aug. 10, 1878, and passed away at 7:15 o'clock Thursday night, Nov. 24, at the home, 707 South Polk, in Albany, where the family had recently moved from Gentry.

She is survived by four sisters, Misses Carrie, Julia and Beatrice Collins, all of the home, and Mrs. O. M. Pigg of Excelsior Springs; also one half-sister, Mrs. George Stanton of Fremont, Nebr., and several nieces and nephews.

Her mother, father, two brothers and two half-brothers preceeded her in death.

She was born at the family home five miles northeast of Gentry.

Miss Collins was a seamstress and made many friends as she went about her work. She was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church, where she served the church in leadership of Bible School and teacher in the Sunday school for many years.

She was a graduate of Northeast Bible College of Minneapolis.

Miss Collins had been in failing health the past year, though seriously ill only the last week. Thursday evening she was visiting with the sisters when she expressed her desire to go to sleep, then silently fell asleep in the arms of her Master, who had been her constant guide through life.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the New Friendship church by the Rev. Ray Lamb of Denver and the Rev. Earl Noble of Stanberry. Burial was in the New Friendship cemetery under the direction of Clifford Brooks.2
