GEORGE F. HORNER

MARY ESTHER, Fla. -- The funeral for George French Horner, 78, will be 10 a.m. Thursday in McLaughlin Mortuary Chapel, Fort Walton Beach, Fla. Burial with full military honors will be 1:15 p.m. in Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, Fla. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

He was born Aug. 19, 1922, in Enid to Clifford and Minnie Horner and died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2001, at a hospital in Mary Esther.

He had lived in the Mary Esther area the past 24 years. He was a member of Seventh-Day Adventists and Elks Club No. 1795 of Fort Walton Beach. He was past president of Fort Walton Beach Community Chorus and the Emerald Coast Concert Association.

Surviving are his wife, Ida Doris Horner of Mary Esther; two sons, George Jr. of Los Angeles, and Donald of Mery Esther; two daughters, Llyn C. French of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Annette Horner of Brooksville, Fla; and six grandchildren.6

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary Arden Horner; daughters, Suzanne Berry, of Belton, and Claudia Clarkson, of Allen, Texas; son, Roberts Horner, of St. Paul, Minn; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sister, Alice Harris, of Norman, Okla.6

Edwin P. Horner

Professor of Law; Baylor Lawyer of the Year (1990).

Edwin P. Horner served as a faculty member at Baylor Law School during five decades, and has taught courses at Baylor during seven decades. He has served as a co-editor of the Oil and Gas Reporter, and is an expert in Texas property and oil and gas law.

Horner received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1937. During World War II, he served in the Air Force for four years until he was discharged with the rank of first lieutenant. Horner attended Southern Methodist University and earned his LL.B., cum laude, in 1948.

Horner joined the Baylor Law School faculty in 1948, where he remained until 1960. In 1956, while on leave from Baylor, he served as an Assistant Attorney General of Texas. In 1960, he moved to San Antonio, where he was employed as a trust officer at Frost National Bank and taught evening courses at St. Mary's Law School.

Horner returned to Baylor in 1968 and continued teaching full-time until 1985. He has continued to teach classes since his retirement as a full-time faculty member. In 1990, Horner became the first person to be honored as Baylor Lawyer of the Year who was not a graduate of Baylor Law School.7

HARRY N. HORNER, JR.

Funeral services for Harry N. Horner, jr., were held Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. at First Christian Church. Bro. Gordon Oglesby officiated. Graveside services were held at 3:30 p.m. in Enid Cemetery, Enid. Bahner-Fox Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Horner, a native of Davis, died Monday afternoon at his home. He was the retired owner of Horner Insurance Agency.

Born July 3, 1912 in Davis, Horner was associated with First National Bank prior to joining the armed forces during World War II. He served as a glider pilot and as an aide to a general in the European theater of war. He was a member of First Christian Church, and a former member of the Davis Kiwanis Club and the Davis Volunteer Fire Department.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Mary Horner of Davis; one son, Harry N. (Buddie) Horner III, of Rapid City, S. D; one sister, Mrs. William G. (Alice) Harris of Norman; and one brother, Edwin P. Horner, Waco, Tex.8

Funeral services for Harry N. Horner Jr., 69, who died Monday in his home in Davis, were at 10 a.m. today in the First Christian Church at Davis.

Graveside rites were at 3:30 p.m. in the Enid Cemetery, with he Rev. Gordon Oglesby officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Bahner-Fox Funeral Home of Davis.

Horner was born July 3, 1912, and had lived most of his life in Davis. He was the former owner of Horner Insurance Agency and was a verteran of World War II.

Survivors include his mother, Mary Horner of Davis; a son, Harry Horner of Rapids (sic) City, S.D; a sister, Mrs. William G. (Alice) Harris of Norman and a brother, Edwin Horner, Waco, Texas.

Horner was a member of a Pioneer Garfield County family. His father and grandfather made the run into the Cherokee Strip and the family settled on a farm southeast of Enid.1

Enid, OK — The funeral for Roy E. Hollrah, 92, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. The Rev. Kenneth Wade will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Family visitation will be 6:30-8 p.m. today, Aug. 26, 2009, at the funeral home.

He was born Feb. 26, 1917, in Enid to Theodore and Clara Bredehoft Hollrah and died Monday, Aug. 24, 2009.

He was raised in the Pioneer community and graduated from Pioneer High School in 1935.

He married Grace Horner Aug. 24, 1941, in Enid. They farmed southeast of Enid. She died Oct. 23, 1999.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, serving as usher. He was a founding stockholder of Gold Spot Dairy.

Surviving are four sons, Richard Hollrah and Kenneth Hollrah, both of Enid, Bob Hollrah of Stillwater and Terry Hollrah of Edmond; two brothers, Carl Hollrah of Cerritos, Calif., and Victor Hollrah of Montrose, Colo; one sister, Vera Hayes of Joplin, Mo; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Hospice Circle of Love or St. Paul's Lutheran Church.2

The funeral service for Roy E. Hollrah, 92, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Rev Kenneth Wade will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be a time of visitation with the family from 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009, at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Roy was born Feb. 26, 1917, in Enid, Okla., to Theodore and Clara (Bredehoft) Hollrah and died Monday, August 24, 2009.

He married Grace Horner Aug. 24, 1941, in Enid. She preceded him in death Oct. 23, 1999. They farmed in the area southeast of Enid.

He is survived by his four sons, Richard Hollrah and wife Roxanna of Enid, Okla., Bob Hollrah and wife Barbara of Stillwater, Okla., Kenneth Hollrah and wife Dee Ann of Enid, Okla., and Terry Hollrah and wife Betty of Edmond, Okla; four grandchildren, Matthew Hollrah, Shelley Hollrah, Cari Adams and Nick Hollrah; two great-grandchildren, Sadie and Simon; two brothers, Carl Hollrah of Cerritos, Calif., and Victor Hollrah of Montrose, Colo; and one sister, Vera Hayes of Joplin, Mo.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Circle of Love or St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
