MARY HORNER

Funeral services were held Thursday, Aug. 5, at the First Christian church for Mrs. Mary Horner, 93, who died Aug. 3 at Burford Manor Nursing Home. Rev. Jack Oliver officiated. Interment was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Norman with arrangements by Bahner Fox Funeral Home.

Born March 10, 1889 at Corydon, Ky., she attended school and graduated from high school in Joplin, Mo. She attended O.U. at Norman and taught school for several years in Lexington. She married Harry N. Horner Dec. 25, 1910 at Mt. Vernon, Mo., and moved to Davis where he was employed in the bank. They moved to Norman in 1921 where they lived until 1929 when they returned to Davis. He preceded her in death in 1963. A life long member of the Christian church, she was a member of the first Christian church for many years. She was also a member of the Twentieth Century Club.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. William Harris of Norman; one son, Edwin P. Horner of Waco, Tex; one sister, Virginia Ridolfi of Somona, Calif; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. One son, Harry, preceded her in death in 1982.

Pallbearers were Jimmy Dale, Fred Dale, Seth Crane, Guy Waters, Home Deel, and J. B. McVeety.7

HARRY N. "BUDDY" HORNER IV

Funeral services for Harry N. "Buddy" Horner IV were recently held in Los Angeles, California following his death on January 8. He lived in Davis from 1938 through the war years.

Horner was born October 27, 1938 at Wynnewood. He graduated from high school in Los Angeles and earned a degree at University of Southern California. He earned his Ph.D. at Kent State University in Ohio. He studied for a year at Cambridge, England. He taught at the South Dakota School of Mines, Rapid City, South Dakota.

His parents were Mr. and Mrs. Harry N. Horner III. His grandfather, Mr. H. N. Horner II, was an early day banker in Davis and lived here until 1982.

Survivors include his mother, Jane Morris of Los Angeles, his uncle, Ed Horner of Waco, Texas, and his aunt, Alice Horner Ulmer of Norman.4
