Ethel Wilson

The funeral will be held Oct. 8 for Ethel Fern "Peggy" Wilson of Eugene, who died Oct. 5 of age-related causes. She was 98.

Wilson was born June 11, 1901, in Lerado, Kansas, to George and Amanda King. She graduated from high school in Kansas.

She married Fay Wilson in McPherson, Kan., on March 13, 1920. He died May 29, 1981.

Wilson moved to Eugene in 1936. In the 1950s, she lived in Oakridge where she and her husband were co-owners of the Lucky U Market with Jim and Juanita Russell. She moved back to Eugene in 1958.

Her interests included sewing and gardening. She took care of her home, yard and garden well into her 90s.

A Presbyterian Church member, Wilson most recently attended Garden Way Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Juanita Russell of Eugene; 13 grand-children; 27 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren. Four children, Eugene, Kenneth, Donald and Sharon, and three grandchildren, Lanny, Talitha and Stanley died previously.

Friday's service will be at 2 p.m. at Lane Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of McKenzie-Willamette Hospital or to Countryside Christian Fellowship in Coburg.
