Ethel Collins

Ethel Collins, 89, 522 E. Chestnut, died Wednesday evening in a local hospital. Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of the Henninger-Allen Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul J. Enabnit Sr. officiating. Burial will be in the Enid Cemetery.

Mrs. Collins was born July 21, 1898, in Pond Creek. She grew up and attended school northeast of Enid. She and Clarence E. Collins were married March 19, 1918, at Kingfisher.

They moved to Fairmont in 1936 where they farmed until moving to Enid in 1949. Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by her husband, a son and three brothers.

Survivors are three sons, Earl of Wichita, Kan., Melvin and Alvin, both of Enid; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Louie Smith of Enid; five sisters, Mrs. Charley (Mabel) Hellums, Vernie Reim, Elva Bodine, Hattie Reim and Glenda Lowe, all of Enid.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Davis Park Christian Church.1

MELVIN JUNIOR COLLINS

Funeral services for Melvin Junior Collins, age 73 of Enid, will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday in the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Breckinridge. Rev. Richard DoceKal will officiate. Burial will follow in the Enid Cemetery under the direction of the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

He was born August 19, 1924 in Pond Creek to Clarence and Ethel Viola Smith Collins and died Sunday evening, July 5, 1998 in Integris Baptist Medical Center, Oklahoma City.

Junior was a graduate of Douglas High School in 1942. After graduation, Junior joined the U.S. Air Corp. Upon his discharge in 1945 he married Evelyn Mae Helberg at Zion Lutheran Church of Fairmont on November 4, 1945. He farmed south of Fairmont from 1947 to 1975. Moving to Enid, Junior went to work for Northrop at Vance Air Force Base in the carpentry and maintenance shop. He retired after 25 years of service in 1993.

He is survived by his wife Evelyn of the home; one son, Terry Collins and wife Kim of Enid; two daughters, Rita Brown of Enid, and Sandi Stiles and husband Rick of Choctaw; one brother, Alvin "Buzz" Collins of Enid, and 10 grandchildren.

Junior was preceded in death by two brothers.

Memorials may be made through the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Heart Division.1

Alvin was born in Enid, May 13, 1927, to Clarence and Ethel Smith Collins and died December 11, 2008, at the Living Center.

He lived in Fairmont and attended school in Douglas.

He moved to Enid and married Jackie Steel and they had two sons, Jim and Larry. Then later he married Carolyn Patton. She preceded him in death Jan. 20, 1992. He then married Donna Bohman.

He worked at Goldspot Dairy in the egg department for 20 years. Then he worked at Central Machine and Tool as a machinist until he retired, after 30 years. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and working around the house. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.

He is survived by his sons, Jim Collins and Larry Collins and wife, Juanita, all of Enid; one granddaughter, Autumn and one great-granddaughter, Jessica of Enid; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Earl, Melvin and Roy and his wife, Carolyn.6

Faydean Masemore

A memorial service for Faydean Masemore, 89, will be noon, Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2010, at Central Christian Church Chapel with Rev. John McLemore officiating. A private family burial will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

Faydean was born to Chalmer J. and Trula (Collins) Richey Feb. 25, 1921, in Pond Creek, Okla., and passed away Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010, at Golden Oaks Nursing Center.

She attended Pond Creek schools and was the football queen her senior year at Pond Creek High School.

In 1939, she married Garwin Thomas, the captain of the football team. They lived several places during WWII and made their home and careers in Enid and at C.F. Thomas Furniture Co. Garwin died in 1958.

In 1960, Faydean married J.C. Masemore. They were both active in Central Christian Church Sooner Senior Sunday school class. Faydean also was a member of Beta Study Club and several other organizations since 1945.

Faydean loved traveling and visiting her family. She was a wonderful mother who could never do enough for her children.

She leaves behind her children, Karen and Marvin Howe of Edmond, Melodee Thomas of Tulsa, Brenda and Dan Zaloudek of Tulsa, Carol and Dan Belcher of Tulsa, and Bruce and Betsy Thomas of Enid. Faydean was blessed with 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her twin brothers, Dale and Gale Richey; and her husbands, Garwin and J.C.1

Surviving are one son, David of Fairbanks; one sister, Foydean (sic) Masemore of Enid; his twin brother, Gale of Aurora, Colo; and two granddaughters.

His wife, Irene, died in 1983.6

Obituary* Obituary for Ronaldine Howard Tippin:
R. Howard Tippin, son of Leona Tippin of Fairview, died November 14 in a hospital in Bethany. Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Friday in the Council Road Baptist Church in Bethany. Graveside services were also Friday at 2:30 p.m. in the Longdale Cemetery in Longdale with Bill Merritt Funeral Service of Bethany in charge of arrangements.

Tippin was born in Oklahoma and lived in Fairview from 1940 to 1946 attending the Fairview schools He married Lola Kenison of Longdale December 31, 1947 in the Fairview Methodist Church. The couple made their home in Oklahoma City and Bethany.

Survivors include his wife, Lola Kenison Tippin; three sons, Jon, Mark, and Brian and all of the home; one sister, Imogene Loudick (sic) of Dodge City Kansas, and his father, Howard M. Tippin of Oklahoma City.5
