It wasn't until 1955 that tractors outnumbered horses in that area. Howard met Margaret Lucile Holaday during a family visit to Mooreland, Indiana, eventually marrying her. Besides farming, they were active in livestock, keeping hogs, chickens, sheep and of course cattle. After Lucile passed away, Howard was lonely and remarried.2 |
