Another of Carroll county's early settlers passed away Thursday morning, January 3rd, upon the death of Nathan Canaday which occurred at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Beans, near Tina. Death was due to complication and failing health accompanying advancing age. Nathan Canaday was born in 1850 in Henry county, Indiana, and was the son of Charles C., and Jane Frazier Canaday. He came to Missouri in 1870, settling in Leslie township, this county, and continued to live there until recent years during which time he has resided with his daughter, Mrs. John Beans. Following the death of his first wife, Mr. Canaday was married to Miss Lou Williams, and after her death was united in marriage to Miss Minnie Morris, who died less than a year ago. He leaves a brother, Robert Canaday, of Dodge City, Kansas, and two sisters, Mrs. Joseph Gray, of Phoenix, Ariz., and Mrs. Alfred Buntin, of Glencoe, Okla. C. N. Canaday, of this city, is a nephew. Funeral services were held this (Friday) morning, at 11 o'clock, at Bogard, conducted by Rev. James L. Bate, and interment was made at Ebenezer cemetery.1 | |
