Obituary* Obituary for Irene Koehn:
Irene Nightingale, 85, a former Ulysses resident, died Friday, July 9, 2010, at Bethel Home in Montezuma where she was a resident.

The daughter of Abraham Tobias and Mary Koehn Koehn, she was born May 25, 1925, in Montezuma.

She and Herman Nightingale were married April 16, 1944 in Winton, Calif. He preceded her in death on Oct. 7, 2004.

She is survived by two sons, Winston Nightingale of Montezuma, and Martin Nightingale of Scio, Ore; a daughter, Jewel Nightingale, Brooksville, Miss., a brother, Stanley Koehn of Winton, Calif; two sisters, Mildred Johnson of Almena, Wis., and Evelyn Smith of Ulysses; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Evan Nightingale, five brothers, and a sister.

Memorials have been established for either the Bethel Home or Gospel Tracts and may be mailed to Montezuma Funeral Home, P.O. Box 421, Montezuma, KS, 67867.

Funeral services were at Grant Mennonite Church in Ulysses. The burial was in the church cemetery.
