Wilson T. Rogers, 22, of 9316 Vanderpoel, was seriously hurt in the crash. Mr. Grant was born in Cherokee, Okla., Dec. 7, 1926. He was an employee of the Drexel Park State bank, and was a veteran of World War II. He enlisted in the U. S Navy Feb. 3, 1944 and served as a Seaman First Class in the South West Pacific Area and was honorably discharged May 20, 1946. He was the son of Robert C. and Dorothy H. Grant; and brother of Richard Locke Grant. Funeral services were conducted at the Doty Funeral Home Tuesday, May 10, at 10:30 a.m. by the Rev. John H. Williamson, D.D., assisted by John C. Sloan, soloist, and Mrs. Marlon Peterson, organist. Interment was in Mount Greenwood cemetery. The casket bearers were Roy Hocher, Pete Barker, Jim Blaesser, Mike Walsh, Gene Radd and Jack Hutchinson. Daily Herald - May 11, 1949, Chicago, Illinois.3 |
