  • [S2451] His tombstone clearly shows a birth date of 2 October 1848 and his death certificate clearly shows a date of 18 October 1848. I currently accept the date on the death certificate as correct because it appears that the tombstone may have been replaced and the date may have been added when it was replaced and was not properly known.
  • [S2452] There seems to be discrepencies about the year in which Sarah Collins was born. See below for a list of data and the implied date or date range in which she was born. I am inclined to believe that the day and month (27 Aug) portion is correct. Even though the date on the death certificate and tombstone says she was born in 1841, the earlier recordings in the census indicate the year would be 1840. Also, the first recordings would have been made by her parents and the later recordings, after 1876, by her sister or husband who may not know for sure.

Death Certificate, born 27 Aug 1841
    Tombstone, born 1841
  • [S2453] The obituary gives Oct 24 and the birth date and the tombstone has Oct 26. The date on the tombstone is accepted as correct.
  • [S2454] The obituary states that he died "late Thursday" with would be May 28, however his tombstone gives a May 27 date.
  • [S2455] The birth record shows a birth date of 28 Jul 1917 and the Social Security Death Index has 25 Jul 1917. I am not sure which date is correct..
  • [S2456] The 1870 US Census, when he was one year old, and the death certificate state that he was born in IL. Later census' and obituary state that he was born in MO. The early census and death certificate are more likely to be accurate.
  • [S2457] It is believed that Perl is an adopted child of Willard and Kittie Parsons. That is based on the following 3 points: (1) In the 1900 Census, Pearl does not appear with Willard and Kittie, even though she would have already been born. In addition, the census shows that Pearl had never had any children. (2) Pearl appears in the 1905 Kansas State Census which would presumably place her adoption date between the 1900 census and the 1905 census. (3) In the 1910 census, it is not stated that Kittie has ever had any children. In addition, the birthplace of Pearl's parents is stated as "un." which is interpreted as "unknown" instead of giving the birthplaces of Willard and Kittie.
